Telling Your Story In 5 Photos w Jenny Meyerson- Photo Walk #1

Inspired by Jenny Meyerson's "Telling Your Story in 5 Photos"
Here is an excerpt on what it's about:

"I love stories. I love pictures. And I love simple. So this photo challenge to take 5 themed pictures was a lot of fun for me. I want to stress that these pictures can be from any sort of camera including from your phone. There is no prize for best photo and I’m not critiquing your composition or white balance. All of my pictures are straight out of the camera.

This challenge is to encourage us to tell our stories. Plain and simple."

Here is my story:


1. Morning Routine.

My morning routine is a bit different than most.  I actually get home in the morning from work so I start off with a 20 minute car ride home, a phone call to Dad to get the coffee going, breakfast with Pops-then walk home (a whole hop, skip and a jump away-we live in the same apartment complex) to walk my dog Riley.  After that, a nice hot shower and then off to bed, usually while watching Criminal Minds or Grey's (i'm definitely behind a few seasons!).

2. Happy Place.

This place is definitely home.  More often than not, in our bed.  Cuddling up with my pillows, blankies, Hubby and Pup-nothing gets better than this since there are very few days I can do so with my work schedule.

3. Contents of something you carry.

This is what my night time work bag has- a stethescope, a BP cuff, my Nook, wallet, $$, hand sanitizer, pencil case, notepad, some woman products :), gum, gummi bears, mail-you know, the essentials all snug in my Thirty One bag which I love very dearly!

4. Someone who makes you smile.

It never fails.  These kiddos always put a smile on my face no matter what.  The innocence is so pure and they are certainly an overflow of personality.  Love it.  I'm one proud Titi/Madrina for sure :)

5. Something you drive by every day that you have never taken a picture before.
Honestly, not that i've been everywhere, but being born and raised here,
there isn't that much for me to take a pic of lol!  I'll have to keep this space open :)

I'm really in love with the Sweet Stamp Shop stamps and Momenta products because they are so diverse!  You can really use it for just about any creation and the designs totally rock!  This picture is from quite a few years ago.  I've been organizing and re-organizing my photos to see which one's I will scrap and which one's will get tucked away into normal albums-one of my New Years Resolutions.  Definitely in progress :)

our weekend...

i had a lovely 3 day weekend and it was so needed!  i was able to get quite a few z's in amongst some well over due family time that i definitely needed and appreciated more than words can describe!  how was your weekend?  anything exciting?  i would love to hear about it :)

had an early dinner with dad, meatball heroes
drove to kennedy airport to pick up mom from visiting PR,
our abuela has been ill and not doing well.  please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she has a peaceful passing when her time comes.  she is a beautiful and strong woman that is being lost to alzheimer's and cancer.  at 97ish years old, we are all truly blessed to have had this much time with her!

my oldest nephew nicholas celebrated his communion.  that was followed up with a great brunch at his favorite spot-the metropolis diner and cake back at my sister's home.
after a little qt with hubby we head on over to my in-laws for some ice cream- my fave is Cold Stone's cake batter ice cream with brownies & gummi bears!

sean and i celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.  i can't believe that it's been 11 years together already!  time sure does fly!  we had a nice breakfast-sean cooked up some omelets and sausage.  the weather was just perfect!  i was so happy i finally was able to pull out my capris & flip flops!  we then head on over to my in-laws for a nice bbq and finished the night with cold stone ice cream and the Avengers!  the movie definitely rocked-i can't wait for the next and did i mention i'm in <3 with Captain America?  well, i am :)

It was a sunny, breezy 75ish.  Couldn't get any better!

Watching this in 3-D at the IMAX theater

was definitely the right way to go!

monday
today i woke up to a dreary, rainy day...after such a nice weekend i was hoping for a few more rays before heading into work tonight.  but that doesn't look like it's going to happen-at all.  i woke up at 845am but physically didn't get out of bed until 11am ((blushing))-what can i say, just one of those days.  walked the pup in shorts and flops in the rain-it felt nice and now i've been blog hopping, pinning and FB'ing when i reallly should be getting this tush into gear lol.  ok, i'll admit i have Breaking Dawn on in the background that is exceptionally distracting lol!

A big distraction but I must say that seeing my creations

being pinned and re-pinned is pretty cool and makes me happy :)

Sweet Summertime Wishes-a Joy's Life LO

Hi everyone!  I'm here today bringing you a Layout I created for the Joy's Life DT.  This week the DT is sharing with you some pretty "sweet" creations!  I created a layout featuring the "Sweet Summertime Wishes" stamp from the Sweet Popsicle Puns Set and the "Happy" & "Birthday" stamps from the Holiday Occasions and Everyday Occasions stamp sets.  Check it out:

This is an addition to my childhood album that I have been working on here and there.  It's my 2nd birthday, clearly lol, and that's little me giving my big sis a quick taste of one sweet cake!  It is probably one of my best, youngest memories! 

We celebrated my 2nd birthday at my God Parents house.  For those of you who do not know, I lost both of my God Parents, mis Padrinos quieridos, both within 10 months apart last year and I miss them everyday.  I remember the sweet smell of the cake, those awful yellow chairs lol and the fun that we had.  My parents definitely picked the best God Parents a girl could ever have because they were just amazing!!!!!  Best part was, me and Margie, my big sis of Bumbles and Fairytales never, ever got into trouble for sneaking a taste of this cake, and everyone there after, even if we ruined it lol-yup, good ol' sister bonding lol.  Wouldn't trade it for the world.  I'll have to admit, we still take a little taste and what's not shocking is that my nephews do it too!

A Few Layouts with Momenta

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm here today with the Momenta DT to share a few layouts I have created with the super fun collections they have.  The first double page layout is an 8x8 for my pup Riley using the 8x8 Precocious Pets (Dog) Album Kit:

These 8x8 pages came with the 8x8 Scrapbook Album Kit.  I love that it's a little scene and all you have to do is add a few pics to set it up.  The kit includes the cutest 8x8 album, patterned papers, along with matching stickers and embellishments :)

Next up, 2 double page layouts.  This was created for a special croppin' lady who has fallen ill and is on a mission to complete her scrapbooks for her family.  In order to push things along, many of us got together and created a ton of layours for her thanks to the fabulous ladies that run NYC Cropper's Delight!  She was so appreciative-it was just wonderful feeling to hear this!  Take a peek:

I created pages for her to display her little girls 1st birthday party.  Nice and simple with plenty of room for pictures and journaling.  These were created using the 12x12 Cuddle & Coo Paper Pack.
