A Joy's Life Creation

Hope Your Day Bubbles Over With Fun!  Isn't that the cutest saying-I sure love it and of course it's one of Joy's many adorable stamps from the Tag You're It Number Two Set!  Check out this fun card I created for the Joy's Life DT, following this week's theme to create a project thinking of the summer colors: Yellow, Turquoise and Orange.

Here's a close up of the sentiment.  I only pressed lightly when stamping so that I would get the distressed look, keeping it beach/summer themed.  I also set up the photo with 2 rocks from Baby Beach in Aruba-our day certainly bubbled over with fun-it was simply unforgettable!!!!!  I can't wait to go back.

Momenta + Scor Pal Day 5!

The design teams of Momenta and Scor-Pal have been hard at work bringing you some amazing creations, so be sure to stop on by Momenta's blog HERE and the Scor-Pal blog HERE to check them all out and don't forget to share some love because there are certainly some fun prizes up for grabs!
*****
The Scor-Pal/Momenta creations are just the perfect combo to get some of those tiny projects going too!  I'm sharing with you today 2 super quick and easy ways on making your own corner bookmarks using the Scor-buddy AND of course, Momenta's fabulous cardstock and patterned papers!  Here we go!

Momenta products used:
12x12 Textured Cardstock- Pastels (PA-0656),
12x12 Pyramid Paper Pad- Chloe's Garden (PA-2384)

Scor-Pal products used:

1.  I cut Momenta's Embossed Cardstock into a 4" x 4" piece.  I then scored at 2", down 2", then turned clockwise and scored again 2", down 2" with my Scor-Buddy.
2.  After scoring you should have 1 2" square scored, cut this out leaving you with an L-shape.
3.  Turn the cardstock so it looks like an upside down V and place your corner in the 3 1/2" spot on your scor-buddy.  Score at 2 1/3" on the left side and 3 1/2" on the right side.
4.  Cut down both sides that have been scored as shown in the picture.
5.  Fold up the left and right triangular flaps over the square-adhere the last flap folded.
6.  Your corner book mark is ready to be decorated!

12x12 Textured Cardstock- Pastels (PA-0656),
12x12 Pyramid Paper Pad- Chloe's Garden (PA-2384)

Scor-Pal products used:

1.  Cut Momenta's Embossed Card Stock 3" x 3".  I used a border punch to create the scalloped edge.
2.  With the scalloped edge to the left side, place the corner at the 4" mark on your Scor-Buddy and score.
3.  With the scalloped edge to the right side, place the corner at the 4" mark on your Scor-Buddy and score.
4.  Fold over the 1st flap, towards the back.
5.  Fold over the 2nd flap, towards the back, over the 1st flap and adhere.
6.  Your book mark is ready for some decorating!!!

Here is a peek at the final look of all six bookmarks I created:

Sweet Baby Tag

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far!  I'm back with the Joy's Life DT to share a "Sweet Baby" tag with you all.  The design team's challenge for this week was to play with Tags-make a tag or incorporate a tag(s) in your creation.  I went with a "Sweet Baby" tag for my stash, here it is:

Joy's Life Stamp used:
"Sweet Baby" - Tag Your It Number Two collection

Get your Joy's Life Stamps & Supplies HERE!

Other materials used:

Pearl Flourish by Recollections
Fuschia Tulle from my scraps stash

Here are a few close-ups for your viewing pleasure:

I'm sure you have been noticing by now that I have been referring to a lot of my creations being added to my "stash".  My stash is for future use-I'm creating now for later and although I do not have an organization area set up for this yet, they are sitting pretty in a basket until I have enough to separate and assign a location.  I also thought that at the end of the year I can use them to make stash gift so other's can have a stash of their own to pick from...what do you think?  Do you have a stash?  How are you organizing them?  Let me know, I would love to hear about it!

We always appreciate you visiting the Joy's Life Blog, so become a follower and/or sign up for the Newsletter so you don't miss out on the fun stuff!  Happy Scrappin' and until next time!

Joy's Life Fun In The Sun Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Joy's Life, Fun in the Sun Blog Hop!!!!!  You are at hop spot #8 and if you just came from Jeannie's blog, then you are on the right track.  If this is your first spot and you would like to check out the hop from the top, click HERE!

We are celebrating Fun in the Sun and for my hoppin' creation, I made a layout of one of my most favorite Summertime, Fun in the Sun memories-the annual summer picnic hosted by my Father's job.  Here it is (as always, for a larger view, just click the pic):

Fortunately Dad is retired and gets to spend extra time with all of the family...unfortunately this means no more annual summer picnic at Dayton T. Brown.  It's been quite a few years since the last one-maybe 7 years or so, but I sure do miss it!  We always had such a great time with the mini carnival games, pony rides, jumping the moon bounce, face painting and the awesome treats-especially the cotton candy!

This pic is from 1986-ish lol-I don't remember and couldn't find the original to get the actual date.  I know, horrible for a scrapper, but before I get it in an album, i'll be sure to add that on :)  It's me and my sis sporting our faces painted...Margie was a cat and being the tomboy that I was, got turned into the Pac Man video game lol.  The article to the left of the main pic is from the Dayton T Brown newsletter, apparently I was a quick little one.  I got first place in the baby crawling race of 1982 lol.

 Joy's Life Stamps used:
"A Treat For You" & the 3 Ice Pops can be found in the Sweet Popsicle Puns collection

My Sistas, a Momenta DT Project

TGIF everyone!  I'm here today to share a Momenta Design Team project.  I altered a wooden picture frame using one of my favorite collections "Free To Be Me".  Take a look:

I started off with a plain wood frame I found for just a dollar from Michaels.  I used Mod Podge to adhere the first layer of patterned paper (Hot Pink w/ Leaves).  I then distressed 3 pieces of patterned paper, running on the right side of the frame (Polka Dots).  After distressing, I cut out 18 circular flowers from a piece of patterned paper and used the foam dots to make them layered.  I finished off the frame with a cute little bow, a few pieces of green bling and a pic of me with a few of my scrappin' besties, my sistas in scrappin' crime :)  I'm definitely going to have to pick up some more frames to make some gifts too!  For now, this one is sitting pretty in my craft corner.  I'm definitely blessed to have such amazing friends to share this hobby with!!!!!  I definitely also need some more group shots so I can show off all of my amazingly talented friends :)

Momenta product used:
12x12 Super Paper Pad, Free To Be Me (PA-2263)
Sassy Friends Stickers (16831)- My Sistas Title

Other product used:
Wood Frame, Michaels Crafts Store
Ribbon Bow, from my scraps stash
Green Bling, by Recollections
Mod Podge

32 before i'm 32

it's that time of the year again!  yup, this lady has turned 31 years old today.  boy, where has the time gone!? i'm on a mission this year-reflecting, embracing happiness, preserving memories, re-discovering my faith and projecting positivity to all around me!  after a rough year and a half-I have to say that i am content with all aspects of my life, but there is always room for improvement and i plan on doing just that!
