a little over a week ago i had to say goodbye to my 6 yo printer,

i know, 6 years, can you believe it! i must say she was a trooper

and i sure got quite the use out of her! she was wonderful :)

now, here is my latest addition:

The HP Photosmart 7510.

Isn't he adorable :) I was completely surprised when DH

suggested we go out and get me a new printer yesterday,

how could I pass that one up after a morning at the laundromat lol!

it's nice and simple and can do all the fun stuff i want it to

and has a record speed for printing 4 x 6 photo's-just a fun fact,

not sure if that means anything yet to me lol :)

now i can get back to my regular posting schedule,

i didn't know how much i relied on the girl til i lost her <3

My DT Projects and pre-posting for the month of March. It’s a busy month for me and I want to be ahead of the game. Lucky for me I only have a few little posts to leave templates up so that I can just fill them in when the date arrives!

My appointment this morning. I see a change of schedule in my future-fingers and toes crossed my friends and I’ll be able to share with you this happy news soon-so minds do not go wandering as mine does so often, it is work related.

The start of my EMT-B Refresher Course starting in just a few short weeks. It’s only once a week, but I always get nervous come exam time. I really want to do well and accomplish some great things with this! I’m also excited to start a new running schedule at the gym!!!

I could stay home tonight. I know I just had a 2 day weekend, sometimes they don’t happen too often but I just really want this extra night. Sigh…

In love with…

My husband. We had a nice evening and morning cuddling-since I work over nights this doesn’t happen too often and had some great conversations and laughs. I want this forever.

All the crafting happiness that is going on in March-my calendar is full and I’m just so thankful that hubby loves that I love to craft my little heart out! <3

Quick little story on my title "Waiting"...

we went to El Gacho Restaurant in Aruba and on our way there

we walked past this club like place-I really wanted to go,

hubby wasn't so sure. Needless to say even though we had a

reservation there was still a 1/2 hour wait.

Who would have thought that their waiting area was the

club like place we walked by that I wanted to go to!

I was so happy, hubby was sure surprised and it was great!!!

Little Love Notes & a Monster Book Mark!

Today I am bringing you a few fun projects I created

using The Twinery and Momenta Products!

February is here and love is in the air

so I created a Little Love Notes Mini Book

to display a little love advice and encouragement:

This is a 5 x 7 mini album from the Dollar Spot and with a little Momenta Magic and distressed edges, I think it came out pretty darn cute. I again used my polaroids to capture the little love notes and I created library pockets to hold them in. I then wrapped my pockets with the Twine to keep them in place. Here are a few close ups of the pockets and love notes:

This little one happily sits on our dining room shelf and hubby loved it. Here are a few more close ups for you to check out...of course it includes pics of me & the hubby in black & white-my fave :)

I then decided to go ahead and have a little fun with creating this Monster Book Mark. I've been known to pick up a book or two or three and attempt to read them all the same time, but believe it or not-there is not a book mark to be found! I won't lie and tell you this was my very own idea, but i've seen it around and decided to give it a whirl on my own. Here she is:

Momenta Tutorial-Aruba Travel Mini

Hello to all! Today i'm sharing with you a little tutorial to create your own mini album for the Momenta DT. I chose a travel theme to share a few of my favy pics from our Aruba vacation last year. So here it goes...

1. Choose 8 patterned papers.

2. Cut each one 4" x 8".

3. Score and fold each at 4"-be sure that the pattern you want to show is on the inside.

4. Adhere the pages together, again be sure that the pattern you would like to show is on the inside. Be sure that the pages of your book are folded and added by stacking as shown in the picture above.

5. To create your binding, cut your cover page 4" x 8 1/2". This time be sure to have the pattern or color you would like on the out side. I chose to use Kraft Cardstock for my cover.

6. To adhere your cover, only place adhesive on the front and back cover, do NOT put adhesive on the binding. This is to allow your pages to be turned easily.

7. My favorite step- CREATE YOUR MINI! Choose any theme, pages, pictures, words, etc. that you love to make it your own.

2 Peas in a Bucket Disney LO Swap

it's another 2 peas swap and this time its 12 x 12 double page layouts featuring Disney's Epcot- Morocco & Germany. i kept it nice and simple with kraft cardstock in the background and took advantage of the Mickey Font Cricut Disney Cartridge I borrowed from my dear scrappy friend Sue D. here is how they came out:

i used kraft cardstock for the morocco title,

i really love the way this came out :)

i also added a pocket for quick journaling or

maybe a ticket or receipt. what do you think?

for my germany layout i used the color order of the flag

to create the title (black, red and yellow). this one also

has a journaling block and a few cutsie buttons with twine

for the final touch at the bottom right hand corner :)

reading. i can't get enough of it these days. i just want to fill my nook and shelves lol-instead of reading i find myself just looking for books, reading reviews and commenting like a nut! help! i guess it could be worse right?

finishing up 8 double page layouts for a disney swap, 2 layouts for my momenta posts in february, my one little word project/album and getting a project kit together for a little class i'm doing on 02/10.

Thinking about…

time. i really need to get things done. i need to revamp my system already, only a month has gone by and it's just not working. i'm thinking of shopping for a pretty new organizer or making my own. what do you think?

getting back to the gym. i have 2 races listed in my 2012 goals, one of which the hubby and i have already booked with the warrior dash. i really want to get back on schedule with this and run my little patootie off. of course i can't wait to get back to zumba class with dad and kickboxing too!

i've always been a reader. ever since i got my nook, the original one about 2 years ago, i just cannot get enough!!! i know, i know...there is nothing like a good ol book to hold and smell those pages. i still do that every now and again just to feel it. i think last year i read close to 80 books-whew! this year my goal is to read 52 books-i'm already at 7 1/2 (lol, almost done with what i'm reading now), i'm technically 3 books ahead of the game and i love it! hubby thinks it's hysterical how he'll catch me reading standing in the middle of the dining room and living room-even funnier when he catches me walking into the b-room with my nook lol. i won't lie, sometimes it just has to be done.

i found that on sundays, Margie started sharing "In My Mailbox" and of course i wanted to jump on this one-i know it's monday but, better late than never lol. here is a little bit about In My Mailbox from Bumbles and Fairy-tales...:

Little Love Notes w/ Momenta

Today is the day! I'm sharing with you part of my very first Momenta post as a Design Team member!!! I'm thrilled to be working with such a talented group of ladies :)

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided to play around with a few non-Valentine Day collections to show you how versatile Momenta's Patterned Papers can be! I created 3 little love notes using bits and pieces of leftovers from a previous project. I always save my scraps for small projects like this one. All of the card bases measure 4x4.

I cut out some of the designs from the patterned papers to create my own embellishments to decorate the cards and adhered them the foam pop dots to add texture. Here is a close up to show you the texture in all 3 of them, i'm especially loving the embossed cardstock :)

i thought i was finished up with the cutting and said to myself "boy i did a whole lot of cutting and there are not many hearts, what happened?" i looked around and found a little wet smushy heart...said ok, maybe i spilled or even drooled some of my drink. hmmm...after another look around i found 1 and a half hearts and the culprit who ate them:

must have been lip smackin' good and he's too stinkin' cute to even get upset. still cutting my hearts by the way lol.

here is the card i created using wryn-close to my heart

and wryn's extras and sentiments:

i kept it nice and simple. i'm not super-fantastic with the

coloring with copics so i try to keep it basic,

hopefully the new year will bring me some new copics

and patience to learn how to color better :)

true story :)

I'm feeling...tired. good, but tired.

getting back to working overnights was a little rough, but we make do :)

i'm wearing...a silly shirt with a beer glass on it that says, i'd tap that glass lol,

gap sweats and furry socks to keep my tootsies warm.

I'm seeing...a super un-organized scrap corner begging for me

to clean her up and to pack for this weekends crops!

I'm thinking...about what lies in the future of Katniss and Peeta,

i'm on book #2 of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire. unreal!

I'm wondering...what my sis is up to tomorrow,

i want to run to do a little shopping, hopefully she'll tag along :)

i'm drinking...strawberry kiwi snapple, or is it kiwi strawberry lol

i'm wanting...to crawl back into bed and not go to work tonight lol,

feeling super lazy and all i want to do is finish cleaning and read my book!

I'm hearing...my little riley snoring, little dog snores are hysterical

I'm considering...what snacks to bring to work tonight,

i see wheat thins and hot chocolate...

I'm creating...the cover to my OLW project, the cover to my project 365

and my Momenta projects...posting soooooooon!!!!!

I'm worrying...about a lot, but taking it one day at a time.

no use in creating more stress than necessary right?

2012 Goals

While reading the Fabulous Adventures of Listgirl I came across her latest list of 2012 Goals. I was truly inspired as I am never really successful and/or make lists that I now realize are just too, I can't think of the word but they pretty much are not manageable and do not get completed.

I took her list and made it my own. :)

PHYSICAL:

join the gym (check!)
run a 5k (already working on this)
accomplish the warrior dash w hubby (signed up for aug!)
zumba with my dad (included in the gym, giving me a check :) )
hope to lose at least 15lbs. (working on this too)

MENTAL:

Read at least 50 books this year, already have 3 under my belt :)
go back to school, contemplating which route i want to take, i do know for sure that it will be a part time plan
come up with a study plan

EMOTIONAL:

make more connections with my family in Puerto Rico (kicked off the new year sending cards and pics of the family, next up, handwritten letters)
keep in touch with my second family in NJ & Maine (i see 3 weekend trips planned already :) )
let go, say goodbye and be at peace (this will be a long process, but it will be done).

SPIRITUAL:

Attend church more regularly (i miss this and am attending mass next sunday)
complete my One Little Word class with Ali Edwards (Faith)-signing up, check!

CREATIVE:

create at least 1 mini book a month for us :) (januarys book is already complete!
teach a mini book class from home (scheduled for the end of january!)
get a project published!
complete my Aruba, Florida Vaca and Disney Albums (sigh, lol, quite the work in progress, i have 3 half albums lol)
attend a Classy Crops weekend crop (i cannot wait for march!!!)
visit the Scrapbook Expo w my crafty peeps :) (i cannot wait for june!!!)

I'm happy to say that many of my goals are already underway and i'm looking to a successful completion of most, if not all of them. I will be posting updates at the beginning of every month so wish me luck!

i was up in the air on whether or not to go ahead with project life/365 for 2012-i have attempted to start but nothing ever came of it, just a few daily pictures and then event pictures for the years past. i made it one of my new years crafty goals/resolutions to complete one for 2012.

time to share my very first project of the year

with amy jaz designs, fresh start collection.

i mentioned in a previous post that this year is going to be a "me" year.

i am going to be working on projects and scrapbooking just for us!

of course there will be a few times, well, maybe more than that,

where i'm going to do a little gifting but hubby and i will certainly

be the focus, oh, and little riley james :)

this book holds all the pics of sean and i together in 2011,

it was a fun little recap i did and he loves it just as much as i do :)

i still want to add a little something in the back but

i haven't quite figured out what, i'm probably going to

incorporate an envelope of some sort and put in our

tickets to shows and movies from 2011.

who knows, maybe this will turn into a yearly thing :)

it's about time i share 2 simple mini's i created for

my big sis Margie of Oh Bumble Is Me and

Claudia from Claudia & Co. it was sad to see the shop

close up at the end of the year, but i'm excited for

Claudia and everything new headed her way!

for the first mini i used basic grey's Little Black Dress collection,

i kept it simple including black and white pics of her boys and

i left space for her to include journaling or anything extra she

would like to add. they are too stinkin' cute!!!

in the next album i used basic grey's picadilly.

i painted the chipboard album in bright white, keeping it distressed.

margie colored in the image for me, i'm certainly not the greatest

at coloring-hopefully this will be the year where i can stay in

the lines lol. i also kept it simple and left it open to opportunities

for margie to turn this album into anything she wants!

A meteorology professor stood before his Meteorology 101 class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty glass mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a jar of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open spaces between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar and of course the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous yes. The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and then proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the grains of sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things -- your family, your partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favorite passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. "The pebbles are the other things that matter, like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else -- the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. Play another 18. "There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers."

2011 was a year of highs and lows for me. i was blessed to

have my triumphs out weigh my losses. i'm looking forward

to 2012 for a fresh start. to renew myself, accomplish my goals,

cherish my family, stay positive and to follow my heart.

first, here is a quick look at some of my most favy

projects created in 2011:

what new projects will i be working on in 2012?

-my one little word is Faith and

i am looking forward to this journey in discovering it

with Ali Edwards class at Big Picture Classes HERE.

I'm feeling...tired. i finally went back to work on Tues night,

some of you may not know that i work the overnight shift,

and i'm exhausted. trying to get back onto days-i hope soon!

I'm seeing...a little blurry, time to take the contacts out lol.

I'm thinking...i really need to get organized and create a new schedule.

I'm wondering...if i'll be able to squeeze in a nap before work tonight.

I'm hearing...TV in the background, hubby is watching.

I'm considering...a few different places for a mini 2012 vaca

I'm creating...finishing up my december daily, completing my NYD cards,

a recipe mini and a mini reading log/recorder book :)

I'm worrying...about not having enough time now that

i'm back at work :( pray i get on the day shift!

i searched high and low for the perfect sugar cookie and

homemade frosting recipe and i fell in luck with the

Brown Eyed Baker's recipe for Lofthouse Style Frosted Sugar Cookies!

i also finalized my holiday shopping list for the main gifts

to be sure i had everything good to go and that santa

knows what to leave at my house for 2 special kiddos :)

i'm going to say the reason my book feels gigundous is because it's my very first DD

and because it is a 5x7 hybrid mini book. i also added quite a few inserts

on top of the pre-made pages i had originally created because

i just couldn't help it! what does everyone think?

the base of my DD is kraft cardstock, i'm looking for ideas on

what i can use to create a cover and back cover with-maybe canvas?

i really love my book so far and can't wait to have it on display

for next season-but any tips or ideas on what i can do?

comfy, cozy as can be!

I'm seeing...a long list of to-do's for this week!

I'm thinking...how to make the most of my last 2 weeks before

i go back to work-i'm actually looking forward to it,

although i wouldn't mind a few extra off lol!

I'm wondering...if we can make a quick Starbucks run

before checking out the Holiday Light Show tonight :)

i'm drinking...orange juice, yum!

i'm wanting...to finish my holiday cards by Thurs so they can

mail by Friday-lol, wish me luck!!!

I'm hearing...Transformers 3 in the background, i love that movie!

I'm considering...a few things lately, we shall see...

I'm creating...my december daily this week, holiday cards, mini wedding card book,

and trying to finish my Aruba album before i go back to work!

I'm worrying...about our 2nd car, will this thing ever get fixed!? sigh...

I'm linking...still like crazy on pinterest lol, i just love

the fun and unique stuffies everyone shares!!!!!

I'm leaving...a special note for a special someone,

hoping to get a smile in return :)

I'm reading...nothing at the moment, i've given up on

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, it's just not happening!

I'm also thinking...i can't wait to start baking next week, yum!!!

i've found some new recipes that i can't wait to try!

the weather is...crispy cold and i'm lovin' it!

hubby, not so much lol!

And lastly, I'm inspired...by the holiday spirit out there,

sometimes i feel like it's disappearing, but i can see that it has not

and i love every minute of it!

december daily in progress...

i guess better late than never right?

lol, i started creating a dec. daily for my sis Margie-

i did it just basic so she can add her little bit o talent to it.

it's geared mostly to the kiddos-i added holiday songs to it,

so it should be fun and i hope this gets her to take more pics,

hint, hint Margie lol...

then today i decided that i would make one for myself :)

here is my first collage pic that will be going into the 8x8 album:

since i just finished decorating our small apt. today,

i figured i would start there. this is my 1st dec. daily,

so please let me know if i'm missing out on something lol :)

and, believe it or not, i have hubby involved.

not to sure how he feels about this

so i'm just gonna go with the flow...

once i have my cover, 1st page and

(11/24/11 Thanksgiving Day at my In-Laws w/ hubby)

I'm feeling...pretty good. I can eat normal food,

walk down the stairs and get around pretty easy.

a few pains here and there but i'm looking forward to driving again.

i'm wearing...an old navy boyfriend tee with gray gap sweats, so cozy :)

I'm seeing...still, a pile of flash cards to keep on reviewing,

test is in 15 days and i'm super nervous!!!!!

I'm thinking...about when my hubby's car is going to get fixed

I'm wondering...what i should wear next Wed.

mom & dad got the whole family tickets to radio city's

christmas show spectacular, dinner and a limo as our

christmas gift and i cannot wait!!!!!

i'm drinking...delishy iced tea hubby made, yum!

i'm wanting...to go see Breaking Dawn so very badly,

she's on vaca next week so the (5) of us can go-

jen, margie, mom, aunt debbie and i! can't wait!

I'm hearing...the Civil Wars, a great band that i can't get enough of,

so sad that i missed their show this past month in nyc :(

hopefully they'll come back around soon!

I'm considering...searching for a new specialist doctor,

got some unexpected news from my surgeon/dr. and now i'm hmmm-ing everything.

finishing my Aruba and Wedding Album-lol, we'll see how far I get :)

I'm worrying...about a lot right now. thank goodness i can still find guidance & peace

from my loved ones and prayer.
